This or That: Peanut Butter

What is your preference, smooth or chunky?
On a slice of wheat or oat bread, topped with either cinnamon or bananas (or both). Paired with a cup of skim or the newly favored almond milk . . .
What is your preference, smooth or chunky?
**note: product shown not necessarily an endorsement, though it is one of the brands currently in my cupboard.

I get fresh ground from the health food market. Actually, I usually get almond butter. But peanut is good too!

Fresh ground is kinda somewhere between smooth and chunky.

  2. Mmmmmm.... peanut butter! A staple in my house, and something I eat every single day.

I'm actually quite picky about my peanut butter. I typically buy Adams, a Pacific Northwest brand that was sold to a conglomerate some years ago. They haven't messed with the recipe yet, so it's still the best. Contains: peanuts, salt (and very little of that!). I get creamy but it still has quite a bit of texture. The niece likes chunky, but eats that over-processed, over-sweetened, heavily marketed stuff. I have tried the grind it yourself method, but sometimes the peanuts at the store are stale and the pb suffers.

Wow! That's a lot on peanut butter! I'll stop now... :-)

You know how I feel about PB. Smooth or chunky, it's all good. Although I usually buy smooth. If buying a mainstream brand, then it has to be Jif. But these days I'm eating the natural stuff.

But never low fat because it's just wrong. Plus, the low fat stuff is worse for you because it contains wonky junk that makes it low fat.

I could exist on PB & Jelly sammiches with banana for my entire life. It's like having the main course and dessert in one sandwich. Look at all the food groups you get to check off (and even better if you use wheat bread).

  4. Has to be chunky Peter Pan. Bing is a peanut butter snob, she buys this fancy almond butter from a health food store, says that MY brand tastes too sweet.

Good. All the more for me.

  5. I too am an Adams girl, though I just bought a jar of organic Safeway brand to try. I like chunky best.

  6. Smooth Jif. With some honey drizzled on a sandwich made up of white or soft wheat bread.....yum!
