taking the deepest breath

Yesterday was my son's thirty-first birthday.  I was prepared to post poetic about the thirty-one-derful reasons why I not only love him, but like him So SO SO much.

But yesterday was also the day I learned that my mother has lung cancer and that she's been sitting on this news for a few weeks.

waiting to exhale

  2. Oh Deb, I'm so sorry. As you know, I lost my Mom to COPD two years ago. Not quite the same as lung cancer, but bad enough. If you need to talk, you know where to find me. Big hugs...

  7. I am so very sorry that this has happened to all of you.
I know that you are going to be hard in the care giving trenches. Please don't forget to take of yourself emotionally and physically. There are those of us here that are willing to bear witness to your feelings if you want to talk it out.

  9. Oh dear. That fucking cancer took my mom, too. I'm so, so sorry.

You'll get used to the sound of the oxygen concentrator...

I'm available for venting, for commiseration, for anything I can do from 2/3 of the way across the country.
