R-O-L-L

We've been making the trip to the train station every work day, except on "interview" days. I really miss seeing her sparkly carriage when I disembark from the "EL" on those days, having to face the long (okay, not too long, but long enough) walk home, especially in my hard soled shoes.

I go to bed Friday nights feeling like we'll rise early Saturday morning to go cruising along the Illinois Prairie Path for a mile or two (or better?) But so far, we haven't risen early (enough) and we haven't ventured further than the library or the 1/2 mile to our local market for yogurt and juice or . . . something (probably toilet paper).

This Saturday is the family picnic. The picnic site is twenty some miles away. So, of course no bicycling this Saturday--at least not early. Perhaps post-return, post-nap. Perhaps.

Melody, I know is chomping at the bit to test her mettle, stretch some muscles, get some air in her hair.

But I'm not there yet. I'm trying to be, in fact, thought I was . . . but, no. Not yet.

Soon, though.

I think. I hope. I must.

She's waiting, patiently.

I'll bet that in a couple of months, once it turns cooler, you'll be all OVER The place. Right now? Middle of summer? At least for me it's A/C all the way. - Tiff

    1. I hope so. I like without A/C just fine...well, mostly fine.

  2. I usually rise about 6 am and enjoy a 6 mile loop. But we are in an extended heat wave and it has already been 80 degrees at that hour! I think my bike tires might melt on the asphalt, not to mention the puddle that I would become. So I too have become a slug and lounge in the AC playing on-line scrabble instead. Easier on the knees - not go great for the butt : )

I love that communities provide bike/pedestrians paths like your Prairie Path. Such a good thing.

  4. I'm impressed that you stay motivated. I have not been to the gym once since Bing left. I am sort of mortified at myself and sort of not...

    1. Motivated, yes. Moving? no. Well, not nearly enough, yet. I don't even want to talk about how my membership is being wasted. Please jest let me remember to remember to cancel before auto-renew, talk about mortification.

  5. Don't have a lot to say except that Melody is quite the girl. Hope the familypic went well.
