Well, these annual picnics are not potluck--we found that didn't work so well. But yes, a mini family reunion. Some games but mostly music and conversation. We had family members ranging in ages 6 months to 95 years in attendance.
Not my thing, but then, my family dealt very poorly with my coming out. So I'm never invited. Which is better than having to deal with people trying to fix me up with various men.
Looks like a great day is about to happen!
ReplyDeleteThe weather was great, for the most part. ;-)
DeleteI bet it's going to be fun!
ReplyDeleteIt was okay.
DeleteCan I be honest? I DETEST family things....always have to be dragged to them kicking and screaming. But...um...have fun...
ReplyDeleteYou can be honest. I am not a fan either. But, a cousin, my best friend in the family, asked me to go. (We both skipped last year).
DeleteYou'll be worn out... in a good way! :)
ReplyDeleteI was spent. So much interaction. Exhausting.
DeleteUm...Count me out, too. I go because I have to, but... Ick.
ReplyDeleteYes, me too generally. Given-the-givens, this year's edition was better than any prior.
DeleteOh, now I think that sounds fun! Like a mini family reunion! Everyone brings a favorite dish! Lawn games! How did it go?

ReplyDeleteMy family and I don't share a truth or dare kind of relationship. We are, for the most part, pleasingly delusional.
DeleteStill, the gatherings (particularly those outdoors) are a challenge for a variety of reasons.
Being grateful I have a very small family. We wouldn't need a pavilion, one picnic table would do, so much more manageable for non-social me.
