It may be connected to my single status. It may be connected to my meager financial resources. It may be connected to my conscious effort to focus and stay on task. It may be connected to being bone tired by week's end and a little grocery shopping, laundry, and cleaning is about all I can muster.
It may be all of that and then some.
While I am not looking forward to what lies beyond the likely, all too brief Autumn I am not particularly all that sorry to see summer fade this year.
Welcome to September.
I hear you! I had so many ideas for this summer, but health and money issues decided they had other plans for me. Hope your Fall makes up for it.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry your summer was less than stellar. Uplifting thoughts for a companionable Autumn.
DeleteWelcome to September... I hope Fall is cozy and you do the things that bring you joy and nourishment. I feel like this summer was super fast and I didn't accomplish anywhere near what I wanted to, didn't go do so many of the things we thought we might. Sometimes I just wanted to sit on the couch and read a book and just do nothing. Fall is actually my favorite season, not sure if it makes you as happy as summer, but I hope it's long and delays the harshness of winter.
ReplyDeleteCozy. Joy. Nourishment. Sounds good!! Summer has historically eked out the others in my favor with Autumn falling in at a close second. I will take your hopeful thoughts and double them for you. :-)
DeleteSometimes, we just need a fresh start. Autumn is a good time for that.
ReplyDelete(I confess though when I read your title - before even getting to the rest of the post - I was saying in my head, "and hello, Spring!")
Yes, Autumn is good for that! I shall try not taking Autumn for granted; toward dwelling on Spring.

ReplyDeleteIt's been too bloody hot here this summer and I am ready to wave goodbye. That, combined with the health issues in the household, has made this one of my least favorite seasons in recent memory. Bah!
ReplyDeleteCome on, Autumn!
Hardships especially of a medical nature can make for some plodding, unpleasant days. Here's to the crispness of Autumn and a newness of situations and spirits.
DeleteI throw a lot on the calendar that never comes to fruition. The hardest is then seeing other people at the event via Facebook and thinking to myself, "why didn't I pull myself together to get there?" Damn you, social media. May this be a better, more contented fall for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mel.
