Absolutely, but also terrifying. There's so often not necessarily mean or hurtful things that fly out of my mouth as there are oddly inappropriate things, and if I had to wear those for longer than the awkward pause that follows it would be mortifying. They seriously just fly. Swoooooosh, off they go before I can catch them...
Ha -- but the people who actually really do need to be careful about what they say don't seem to care that their words are recorded and trotted out. They own even the crappy ones. Or insist they didn't say something even though it has been recorded. I'm thinking about this current election...
Nice reminder. Though I find that any words I shouldn't have said tend to hang around and haunt me anyway. They don't need to be written on my skin. Yet still they stay with me for years.
Oh crap, yes. Good reminder.
ReplyDeleteI had one of those moments too. :-)

DeleteYes. Definitely. Although, I'm pretty careful with my words, there are some I wish I could have held back...
ReplyDeleteDon't I know. Bonnie Raitt chimes in, "had a fight with my daughter, she flew off in a rage . . "

ReplyDeleteSwooooosh...
DeleteI am often flabbergasted over what folks say on the buses/trains during my commute. Wow.
