F*cking B*tch, Get A Life

Ian L / Public Domain

Sunday, March 27, 2016. Otherwise identified as "Easter Sunday" began like any other Sunday. It was laundry day for the Middle Girl ladies. We decided to cab it over using the car share option. Since we only had the laundry run, a cab made more cents financially.

The cab ride and transaction to the laundry mat was more-or-less uneventful. The driver friendly and efficient enough. The return driver was huffy from the start. He went from huffy to out-and out belligerent when I asked to used the credit / debit card swipe and nasty when I passed on adding a tip.

"Don't you have 7 dollars?" "Why don't you take a bus?" He huffed and puffed about the expense of the credit / debit option. There was a bit of back and forth. (read: not a discussion. think: yelling match)
As he was pulling off he yelled into the still of this Easter Sunday morning, "F*ck you, you f*cking b*tch! Get A Life!"

Get. A. Life. . .   Here I thought breathing, walking, talking, working, mothering a son and daughter, nurturing pets, volunteering, writing, drawing, and a bunch of other stuff was me having a life. It isn't? If not, then what is?

I do so love laundry day.

Offensive, inappropriate, mean, and scary. All rolled in to one. I'm glad you're okay, but how disturbing and frightening.

You definitely have a life! Maybe he felt he didn't and two women felt safe to yell at. (I hate that.)

I'm sorry that people are so mean right now. I don't understand it. And I definitely don't like it when it impacts people I care about. Sorry that happened.

    1. Offensive, inappropriate, mean, and scary. All rolled in to one. Yes, and thank you. I am okay. People are mean. I tried (try) to give many the benefit of the doubt, bad day, bad few days, but still . . basic. human. decency.

  2. Ugh! That's beyond awful, Is there any chance you could report his behavior to the company? It might not do any good, but I hate to think he got away with acting like this, and was so abusive to someone, especially someone as nice as you. I hope your next laundry day is much more peaceful!

    1. Beyond awful was excatly my reaction. I did call, spoke to a "Chris" who promised he'd report it to the shift manager. I emailed a note to the "contact us" link on the website, not confident that "Chris" would pass on my issue, let alone, communicate my ire. To date, no reply, no action. ::sigh::

  3. What a horrible experience! I love your response to it, but man. What a jerk. Maybe the day didn't mean much to him, but any day is not a good day to be nasty and scream obscenities and insults at someone who is trying to pay for a service. Argh.

    1. What a jerk indeed. A snarling, ferret face (no offense to ferrets) jerk. Argh is right.

  4. Ugly. And so pointless. The lashing out of a disgruntled jerk who has to vent his spleen at a couple of women out with the laundry. I hate that kind of shit. I'm sorry it happened to you, and hope you were able to get past it and carry on with your day. Xoxoxox

    1. Clearly dude had a bug up his butt before he picked us up. I suspect this particular dude always has a bug up his butt. I (we) were able to shake it off eventually had have a pleasant rest of the day. Thank you. ♥

  5. That miserable man's cab company would be reading a lovely letter from me right about now and also to never ever send his cab to my house again!!! You don't deserve to be verbally assaulted.

    1. I sent an email. I am following that up with a snail mail to whomever I may identify as a person of authority. I will liekly copy our village. The company is not located in our town, but is considered one (of only 3) local cab companies.

Some time ago my mom relayed a similar experience. The senior center provided cab vouchers and some operators were reluctant to flat our rude about taking them. Sad to note that the negativity and bad attitude prevails.

  6. I work in public service, and bad day or not, there is no excuse for this kind of behavior. How do such vile people find their way into jobs working with the public? They would be much better suited to working out their anger by pounding rocks.

    But much love to you. I know being on the wrong end of someone else's issues can be very upsetting. {{{hugs}}}

  7. What a pathetic excuse for a human being he was. So sorry you had the random misfortune of crossing his dark path.

  8. So you come back from cleaning up life only to have it sullied by a crap experience. Talk about timing. I'm so sorry you had to go through that.

What a jerk. Did he just wake up that morning and realize he was a cab driver?? What a moron and your finances are not his concern. All he needs to worry about is getting his cab fare. If it had been me, he may not have even gotten that let alone a tip? Seriously??
