Ready, Set, Go! Again.

I am knee deep in endeavoring to keep more weight away from my waist (and hips, and arms, and . .well, all of me.) But even more, I am endeavoring to improve my my overall health; that entails eating healthier, exercising regularly, and not crossing the street against the light or other not so prudent acts that may result in massive head trauma or broken bones.

I've been down this road before. I've been successful before. I am trusting that I can be successful again. But, more than reaching a weight loss goal, or achieving multiple (consecutive) days of healthful eating and hitting exercise targets, I am looking to achieve a lifestyle shift toward a health-filled existence.

Every journey begins with a step. I celebrate the steps taken to date, and the steps yet to come.

  1. I think each time we try to change a habit, whether we are successful or not, we move closer to our goal. It took me at least 7 times of trying to finally quit smoking. We just have to keep trying.

I too am trying to make some lifestyle changes, with varying degrees of success. But I am here cheering for you, each step (or 10,000) of the way.

  2. I love that -- celebrating each step instead of waiting for the overall goal. It's so unfair that the older we get, the harder it is to shift and make a difference with those healthy changes to lose the weight. I wish you all the best in your endeavors, and know you will find success again and a balance with health and enjoyment (and no walking into cars).

    1. Looking for motivational quotes, that one jumped out at me. Yes, celebrate each step. Thank you for the well wishes. And no, no walking into cars. The challenge is to keep the cars from careening into me. ;-)

  3. great idea to celebrate the steps/moments instead of just the end goal/result. it is the journey that counts, after all :P best of luck with your healthy shift. i wish i could inspire myself to do more towards healthiness than just thinking about it!

  5. Good for you. It is so hard. Even when you know you've been successful in the past, it is so hard to get started and stick with it again.

    1. Some days are more challenging, the tendency to be lazy when stressed or tired. Part of the turnaround for me shall be to have high value, healthy treats, small plates, snacks ready to go for those times. Lest I fall back on thinks not so good and detrimental to the process. Thank you for the supportive vibes. :-)
