Counting down to T-time. We are down to single digit days and I can all but taste the pickles, omelets, and oh, her coffee in the mornings. Lest you think its all about the food, let me assure you, it isn't.
We both have struggled these five months and I fear this final week will be the hardest yet. With preparations for the holiday, work responsibilities and social obligations we probably won't talk as much this week.
I'm pretty sure I won't be sleeping much either.
I hope you never have to go five months again.
ReplyDeleteWhen I used to go to Chicago frequently, I managed to squeeze in an occasional long weekend, just because I COULDN'T TAKE IT.
Oh gawd I just can't imagine... hummm, well maybe I can. I am so excited for you! And I will add my hope with hahn's that you two will never have to go five months again.

I remember those days of counting down, ugh. Here's hoping the time flies by until you're together again.
ReplyDeleteOMG!! You have made it this far....you will surely make it to the visit...remember the story of the little engine that could?? You both can do it!!!
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome time...which I know you will but wanted to say it anyway!!
The single digit days are the hardest because then you are already thinking in hours -at least I would be-
ReplyDeleteHope the weather is good for traveling.
SINGLE DIGITS!
ReplyDeleteThey are the hardest, because you just want them to be OVER already. Wishing you peace.
Anticipation is the best aphrodisiac!!!
ReplyDeleteI just need you to clarify something though for me - does she make pickle omelettes or am I messing that all up?
Hey Shazza, No, not pickle omelettes. On my first visit she took me to one of her favorite eateries and introduced me to their famous fried pickles. We've shared a basket of pickles every time I've visited.
