New Year, New Plan

One of the brunch aunts gifted me with a blender. While we were chatting that Saturday,  I mentioned wanting / needing one and she had an extra (older model) and so, now I have a blender. I have spent the better part of last year collecting healthful alternatives and adding more fruit and vegetables to my total intake.

This morning's smoothie: pineapple, yogurt, cranberries, and spinach.

  1. It's amazing how much bulk green matter one can hide in a delicious smoothie! Thanks Auntie!

  2. Our eldest is begging for a Ninja blender type thing. Hopefully we can get one soon - why do the healthy things cost so much? Hope you enjoy your new gadget! :P

    1. Beats me. I kept looking and the Ninja type thing. Wish-filled. Longing. So far, I am enjoying it greatly. Good Luck!

      Thank You.

  3. Fun! My blender broke a few years ago, and I got a stick blender thinking it would be more helpful. But really, I miss the standing blender and smoothies.

    1. I haven't had one in several years since the last one broke. I want a hand-held for blending soups and such without moving out of the cooking pot.

I went back and forth between that, a traditional blender, and (or) a juicer. My Aunt ended the immediate debate.

  4. I've had blenders, but they get given away when I move. Yeah. I want a traditional blender, not a juicer, because I think you get more roughage that way. Although I have to admit to being a little starry-eyed over Champion juicers. (You work in a health foods store, you get juicer envy.)

Your shake sounds delicious. Thank you aunt!!

    1. Yes, the roughage (lack thereof) was my problem with juicers when I had one some years ago. I really am having a fun time with having a blender (again). :-)

  5. That sounds amazing. You have so much deliciousness coming your way thanks to your brunch aunt! (I lack time management skills necessary to planning for smoothies, so I am just imagining how yummy all yours are going to be based on the description of this one!)

    1. I got so bummed Friday morning when I realized I had run out of key components for the final workday breakfast smoothie. Have to plan and shop better for the coming days. :-)

  6. I have a Magic Bullet which I love because its so easy to clean. But of course one needs to actually use it to get its benefits.
