A Porch Goose

Porch Goose*

For several days running I have had a tune roaming about my head. The first few days, just the tune and then, the lyrics.  I remembered the title but I couldn't remember where I'd heard it or why I know it.

Than I asked my daughter. She came up the source in a a nano-second.

Once she named the source it all became clear (why I know it). What still remains a mystery is why this tune suddenly arrived in my head and more to the point, why the tune won't leave my head.

The tune: "A Whole New World" ~ I bet you all know the source.

*About the art, the prompt was laughter.  The image that immediately came to mind was a neighbor's porch goose dressed for Mardi Gras.  This same goose is now dressed for St. Patrick's Day.  There is a second house on the block with a porch goose (what are the odds?) who is also dressed but more for the elements than making a statement.

  1. I like the idea of people having porch geese, and dressing them up for the holidays.

    1. It can be quite festive. There are two on this block. :-)

  2. A porch goose. Hmm... I suppose that means a concrete or other material statue? My neighbors across the street have a pair of small lions at their front steps which they decorate for every 'holiday'. It keeps the littlest kids on the block entertained. :-)

As for that song, which I believe is from my least favorite Disney movie, maybe it was the backing music on an advertisement? Sometimes those sneak into one's head.

Love your continued dedication to your art, my dear!

    1. I don't think concrete but certainly something that withstands the elements.

There are a lot of lions too..stone, mostly. Not many are decorated though. ::sigh:: Wonder why.

Yes, could be I heard it in a context not connected to the film. Must have.

      Thank you!

  3. I have a secret crush on porch geese... I don't want one myself, but I get such a kick out of seeing them. I have a friend whose mom gave her a porch goose and no joke, like 20 different outfits. I'm pretty sure Mardis Gras wasn't one of them though! Fancy party goose!

    1. I won't tell. :-)

Maybe you can't have a porch goose unless you dress it? LOL So fun.

The Mardi Gras porch goose has become a bunny for Easter. Shimmery ears. Lovely.
