Sometime over the last few days, I ran across a piece of paper dated January 10, 2012. This paper is peppered with notes from a webinar I must have watched.
Among the notes scribbled written very neatly on this piece of paper was: Set SMART Goals "SMART" being an acronym for:
Specific Meaningful Achievable Rewarding Time based
And Drop 'All or Nothing' Thinking AND Make IT Fun
Game On.

You can do it! Love it! I talk about SMART goals with my students. Breaking it all down into achievable, measurable steps instead of having one big lofty goal makes a huge difference in feeling accomplished and motivated! I'm rooting for you.
ReplyDeleteYour enthusiasm is contagious. Thank you!
DeleteI had never heard that "SMART" before. I think I will set a couple of smart goals myself. Great advice!
ReplyDeleteI think SMART will come in handy elsewhere too. Thank you.
DeleteThe all or nothing thinking is so dangerous when I am trying to lose weight. I try very hard to roll with the punches and keep getting back on track. It feels so good when I can pull that off.
ReplyDeleteI tend to get anxious to see measurable results. Working to stay focused and on task.
Delete'Achievable' This is key!
ReplyDeleteTrue that.
DeleteI love your blog title. I frequently joke about needing to go on an "economy class" (as we call coach) diet.
ReplyDeleteThe advice to drop all or nothing thinking and to make it fun is good too. I really need to do that at the moment.
